The energy-efficient foundry

We are well aware of the responsibility that comes along with the energy intensity of our processes. For that reason, we constantly challenge our processes, and energy efficiency is a decisive factor when we decide about investments. To document this, we have obtained very early certificates for our environmental management system since 2002, and for our energy management system since 2016.

During the last three years, we have stepped up our efforts of analysis and optimization of energy consumption. We started by setting up a companywide energy monitoring system, which records and displays consumption of resources by all major processes and machinery. Based on that analysis, we have invested a middle six-figure amount into resource efficient processes, achieving substantial savings in CO2 emissions.

Generally speaking, customers who purchase from energy-efficient foundries contribute significantly to the protection of our environment. Moreover, the casting process itself is Energy efficient: 1^st because of near-net-shape production, 2^nd because the use of scrap metals provides for recycling resp. upcycling.
