GETTING TO THE CORE OF IT

Cores are required for hollow spaces and undercuts. We produce cores from quartz and special sands on high-performance core shooters – using chill irons as well if required for special material properties; for special surface qualities with coating as well. Engineering cores in pattern design requires a high level of experience-based knowledge and is of vital importance for the quality and functionality of the product. As in the foundry, sand quality and sand processing determine the quality of a cast part. This is why our investments focused on modern sand processing.

THREE SAND CASTING OPTIONS

The most direct path from raw metal to a finished work piece is and will remain the casting process, wherein the lost mold sand casting method offers designers the greatest freedom and is predestined for series of medium quantities due to the limited one-time costs.

For a foundry, it is rare to offer the entire range of processes available in sand casting as Dietermann + Co. does. We manufacture series items using the Seiatsu method on two automated HWS molding lines. We also produce large components in series in the hand molding shop and manufacture prototypes for our series production customers. We mold small series typically from old patterns for spare parts requirements, which we take over from other foundries, too, on mechanized molding machines.

A CLEAN DEAL

What everyone does, does not necessarily have to be the right thing. Labor-intensive grinding is all too readily outsourced. We take a different approach. In the interest of our customers, we want to retain control of deadlines and quality and thus we primarily rely on our internal fettling shop. Due to the fact that only our own employees identify strongly with our company and our customers, we can guarantee consistent surfaces, no grinding on clamping points, and a timely detection of error sources. Naturally, we also conduct an in-house heat treatment for altering the mechanical properties of your work piece.
